ALTITUDE RP
RULE SET 2026.

Read every rule before entering the city. Roleplay over gunplay, always.

01

Age Requirements

1.1

All players and whitelist applicants MUST be 18+ years of age. Anyone found to be under the age of 18 will be banned.

02

Character Names

2.1

The use of a realistic name is mandatory. Unrealistic names are against the rules. Any character name that is unrealistic or sexual in nature will result in that character being deleted. Name transfers are not possible.

03

Microphone

3.1

Using a high quality microphone on the server is mandatory. Proper headset and microphone combinations are inexpensive. Using speakers is highly discouraged, and webcam or gaming console microphones may produce low quality voice. PUSH TO TALK is highly recommended so other players do not hear their own voices or background noise. If microphone issues occur during a scene, communicate through /looc or /me and attempt to resolve them. If they cannot be resolved, use /me to roleplay the situation out and fix the issue before engaging in more RP. Staff can assist with voice and sound setup.

3.2

AltitudeRP is an English speaking server. All verbal communication, writing, and scenes performed in character must be in English.

04

Discord

Refer to Rule 11.2, Metagaming

4.1

The use of Discord voice or video calls while in the city is strictly prohibited.

4.2

Do not message other players in Discord while in game. All conversations should be in the appropriate public forums in our Discord.

4.3

Sending unsolicited links, invitations to other RP Discords, or toxic messages or media will result in removal from Discord and removal of whitelist roles.

4.4

Racist, homophobic, derogatory, or overly sexual remarks, media, or messages in any Discord channel or sent directly to another community member are strictly prohibited.

4.5

Discord must not be used to retain or obtain information learned in character, such as learning a location through Discord or calling friends or gang members into the city.

4.6

Your Discord profile must comply with both Twitch’s and Discord’s Terms of Service.

05

Rule of 5

5.1

No more than five people may participate in any criminal job or activity. Help from another person or group is not allowed if it puts the scene above the limit of five people. This includes interference, communications, or any other assistance. Anyone involved in the original scene counts toward the five until the scene concludes. Participants may not be added or swapped.

5.2

The Rule of 5 does not apply to a verified gang defending its block or to drug manufacturing and drug selling. For example, if six gang members are online and five are selling or manufacturing drugs, the sixth may also participate.

5.3

You may not bait other gangs to your block or lead a police chase there with the intention of using more than five people.

06

Zero Tolerance

6.1

Rape RP, mutilation RP, suicide RP, forced ERP, pregnancy RP, miscarriage RP, and sexual harassment are strictly forbidden on the server.

6.1.1

Torture RP requires clear consent from all parties documented in Discord and is permitted only outside public view, such as inside apartments or houses or far from player activity.

6.1.2

ERP requires clear consent from all parties documented in Discord and is permitted only outside public view, such as inside apartments or houses, far from player activity, or in private back rooms at the Vanilla Unicorn. Consent may be revoked at any time, at which point the roleplay must cease immediately.

6.2.3

Harassing any member of the community in character or out of character is strictly prohibited.

6.3

Racist, homophobic, derogatory, or overly sexual remarks, media, or messages made in or outside the city are strictly forbidden.

6.4

Use of the n word, including either the soft or hard r form, is strictly forbidden in the city and in Discord.

6.5

Use of slurs such as “retard” is strictly forbidden in the city and in Discord.

6.6

Unauthorized client modifications or cheats will result in immediate permanent removal from the community. This includes tracers, confetti, and visual packs that provide an advantage or change the day/night cycle to improve visibility. NVE, ReShade, and ENB are allowed.

07

Breaking Character

7.1

You are expected to remain in character at all times while on the server. If you witness or are involved in a rule break, roleplay the scenario through and use /report while it is ongoing or open a ticket through the Discord support bot after it ends.

7.2

This is a serious roleplay server. Roleplaying as a creature that is not human, supernatural, or fictional is not permitted, including masks or appearances intended to portray such entities. Events approved by staff may allow exceptions when required by the event scenario.

7.3

Discussing staff reports or tickets while in character is prohibited. This includes statements such as “I’m reporting you,” “I’ll let the government know,” “I’m contacting the gods,” or “You’re going to the Banhamas.”

7.4

Do not refer to situations in character as winning or losing. Phrases such as “W cops,” “Take the L,” “All you care about is the dub,” “These cops are always trying to win,” and “Robo cops” are not allowed.

7.5

Do not refer to people your character does not know, such as streamers, staff, government, or an overlord.

7.6

Do not use scuff or exploit issues in ways that ruin the roleplay of others.

7.7

Your character does not know SOPs unless they are a member of the DOJ, PD, or DOC, or have been shown specific SOPs as a criminal. A criminal character may not reference SOP knowledge gained from a police character or previous cities.

7.8

If your character is arrested, charged, or investigated, do not roleplay as a lawyer unless your character is an established city attorney. “Google lawyering” and arguing from real world law are not permitted. City laws and procedures may differ from their real world counterparts.

08

Medical / EMS RP

8.1

You must roleplay your character’s injuries. Your character does not instantly recover simply by entering and leaving Pillbox.

8.2

If downed, use /311 to call EMS and wait a reasonable amount of time before taking the light. Use /311 only after the active scene has ended. If your character is unconscious, the /311 call may only be made as an anonymous local reporting what they can see.

8.3

If EMS is on duty, allow them to treat you and roleplay your injuries verbally and through relevant /me responses. The medical system is detailed and medical staff can see what is wrong with you, so do not provide false information.

8.4

An EMS employee may not be taken hostage, killed, or robbed from their workplace, Pillbox, or an active scene that you are not part of.

8.5

EMS must roleplay patient treatment, including the use of /me commands and medical equipment.

8.6

EMS may not sell medical supplies for personal profit.

8.7

EMS may not participate in illegal activities or crimes.

09

New Life Rule (NLR)

9.1

The New Life Rule takes effect when your character is not revived by EMS and instead respawns at the hospital by “taking the light.” Once you press E to take the light, your character forgets all events leading to their death and may not use information from that incident in future roleplay.

9.2

If downed during an active scene, remain on the ground and wait for EMS or PD. You may respawn at Pillbox only when no EMS or PD are available and the scene has fully concluded. If EMS or PD transports you to the hospital, you may not return to the incident area for 30 minutes. Taking the light during an active scene to avoid consequences, arrest, or continued roleplay is combat logging and will result in administrative action.

9.3

If all officers involved in a scene are downed, the scene concludes once the criminals have left and no active roleplay remains. PD may then recover department vehicles. When no EMS or PD are active, downed officers may take the light and follow Rule 9.1. Officers not involved in the original scene may investigate, collect evidence, issue warrants, and continue related roleplay. An officer downed in the original scene who takes the light may not participate in its investigation, pursuit, arrest, or prosecution. If no uninvolved PD is available to investigate, the event is over and all parties should move on.

10

RDM / VDM

Random Deathmatch & Vehicle Deathmatch

10.1

RDM is killing a player without a valid roleplay reason established in character. Clear verbal initiation and a valid roleplay reason are required before attempting to initiate a shootout.

10.2

VDM is killing, ramming, or intentionally trying to run over someone by using a vehicle as a weapon. It is strictly prohibited.

11

Metagaming

11.1

Metagaming is using information not received in character within the city. Your character knows only what they have learned through roleplay. Information learned through streams, online sources, Discord, or any other source outside of character may not be used in city. Channels designated for communication in character within the main Discord are the exception.

11.2

Being in a Discord voice chat while in the city and exchanging, receiving, or giving information outside the city is prohibited. All roleplay communication must remain in character in the city.

11.3

Using information from changelogs or announcements in character is metagaming. For example, seeing that a feature was added and searching for it without your character having learned about it is prohibited.

11.4

Players may watch another player’s livestream while in the city. If you are actively involved in that streamer’s scene, you may not participate in their stream chat until the scene concludes. Supporting content creators is encouraged, but stream sniping, metagaming, or using livestream information to influence roleplay may result in severe administrative action.

12

Powergaming

12.1

Powergaming is attempting to gain an advantage by forcing a single outcome, forcing another party to lose, or using game mechanics or /me commands without allowing a fair chance of other outcomes. For example, you may not force someone to withdraw money from their bank so you can rob it.

12.2

Players must roleplay realistically. Magical abilities, supernatural powers, superhuman strength, invulnerability, and other unrealistic actions that provide an advantage are prohibited. Characters must remain within reasonable human limitations and respond appropriately to injuries, threats, and their environment. Events approved by staff may permit temporary exceptions.

12.3

Dressing as, impersonating, or falsely claiming to be Law Enforcement or EMS is prohibited.

12.4

Lying in a /me is strictly prohibited. All /me commands must be factual and correct. For example, when fingerprinted by police, you must provide your character’s name.

12.5

You may not forcibly unseat someone from a vehicle, forcibly carry a player against their will, or escort players out of a vehicle, such as removing an associate from the back of a locked police vehicle.

12.6

Escorting or carrying someone to bypass a vehicle’s seat limit is prohibited.

12.7

If you roleplay having documentation or paperwork, it must be prepared and ready to send to the other party. Using /e clipboard is not proof of prepared documentation.

12.8

Do not exploit animations in the game such as fishing, refueling, banking, or clothing store animations by attacking or forcing roleplay on someone who cannot move or retaliate until the animation ends.

13

Revenge Killing

13.1

Revenge killing is attempting to hunt down, kill, or arrange an attack on someone who previously killed your character after your character took the light. Your character does not remember the events that led to their death and cannot seek revenge.

14

Exploits

14.1

Using a glitch, bug, crash, or emote in the game for any exploit or personal gain is not tolerated. Report exploitable issues immediately through a ticket. Anyone who abuses or conceals a bug for personal gain will be dealt with severely. Depending on the issue, reported bugs may earn a cash reward in the game.

14.2

Using emotes, animations, props, or any game mechanic to bypass locked doors, gates, barriers, walls, windows, or otherwise gain access to areas your character could not reasonably enter through normal gameplay is strictly prohibited.

15

Combat Logging

15.1

Logging out during an active roleplay scene, shootout, arrest, or other situation to avoid consequences or continued roleplay is strictly prohibited. If you crash or lose connection, immediately post in the Discord OOC chat and tag the appropriate people, reconnect as soon as possible, select your last location, return to the scene, and communicate through /OOC that you are returning.

15.2

If a tsunami or restart occurs while you are being arrested or processed, return to PD afterward to continue the processing and roleplay.

16

NVL: Not Valuing Life

16.1

You must value your life at all times. A “badass” character who fears nothing is not acceptable. Follow instructions when a weapon is pointed at your head and roleplay a reasonable fear for your life. Whitelist answer #2: Roleplay over gunplay. No exceptions.

16.2

When a weapon is pointed at your head or you are taken hostage, do not draw your own weapon, press a panic button, or radio your location to friends.

16.3

Unrealistic jumps from heights that a person or vehicle would not reasonably survive are prohibited. Vehicle jumps must be reasonable and not excessively dangerous, such as launching vertically off a mountain.

17

FRP: Fail Roleplay

17.1

Baiting police by provoking Law Enforcement without a realistic reason is prohibited. Criminals should avoid attracting unnecessary attention.

17.2

Mercy killing, including asking a friend to kill your character, is prohibited.

17.3

Ignoring /me commands, including medical treatment or another player’s roleplay actions, is FailRP.

17.4

Do not disconnect until an active scenario is fully over. If arrested during criminal activity, complete the scenario before disconnecting. If connectivity problems, a crash, restart, or personal emergency disconnects you, reconnect and return to the scenario as soon as possible and notify the other player in the OOC chat.

17.5

Do not intentionally delay roleplay by being AFK or refusing to interact.

17.6

Repeatedly robbing stores or players in a chain is not permitted.

17.7

Major crimes such as store, bank, or jewelry robberies may not be committed within 30 minutes before or after a planned restart, allowing Law Enforcement to brief, debrief, and get situated.

17.8

If you lose an active pursuer, wait at least 15 minutes before disconnecting.

18

LQRP: Low Quality Roleplay

18.1

Robbing players without a meaningful roleplay reason is prohibited. “It’s what my character does” is not sufficient. Robbing players at job locations or banks, forcing them to open doors, taking keys, or forcing withdrawals is considered LQRP.

18.2

Taking every item from players is not tolerated as standard roleplay. Do not take every item or remove basic items solely to annoy someone or force them to “go to sleep forever.”

18.3

Pass out, sleep, or similar emotes during shootouts, along with hotkeys, binds, or unusual mechanic abuse used to gain an advantage, are prohibited.

18.4

Fake hostages such as friends or gang members are prohibited. Players must put effort into securing a hostage and roleplay with them so that the scene has meaningful participation on both sides.

18.5

Police officers are not loot boxes. Robbing an officer is permitted, but officers may not be targeted solely for their equipment, weapons, or items. During an active Law Enforcement scene, downed officers may be searched only for items reasonably needed to continue that scene, such as ammunition, bandages, or medical supplies. Excessive looting is prohibited. Once all involved officers are down, criminals may centralize officers for EMS if needed and must then prioritize escape and the likelihood of further police response. Moving from officer to officer solely to strip equipment or maximize loot is unrealistic and prohibited. Events approved by staff may permit temporary exceptions.
